Walkthrough of The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot (Artist's Edition-Gilded)
Take a look at this beautiful tarot deck with me!
I have been eyeballing this deck off and on for quite a while now and it's also crossed my path many times throughout. I finally felt the urge to pull the trigger on it and get it.
There are two versions of this deck. One is mass market (available on Amazon) and the other is the Artist's Edition (indie - available on Etsy). I researched both versions and decided on the indie version because one, I love gilded edges (I'll include the picture of that in this walkthrough), and two, because I like to try to support small independent artists whenever possible. So, here we are!
Below is a sort of gallery style walkthrough of this gorgeous tarot deck! As usual, I am dividing it up by major arcana, minor arcana, and each suit's court cards. Without further ado, here is The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot!
Major Arcana
Note: Many of the cards' titles in the major arcana are changed in this deck from the normal titles because they're meant to add more layers to the already existing common meanings of each of the cards.
Minor Arcana
Note: While some of the imagery of the minor arcana remains identifiable and like you'd see in the RWS, some of it is different than normal and this is because, once again, the creator of the deck has taken the meanings of the cards to a new level which I find fascinating and very interesting. This could add more depth to the readings that this deck can provide.
Court Cards
Note: Once again, you will notice the titles of the court cards are changed except for the Queens.
Nymphs = Pages
Warriors = Knights
Spirits = Kings
That is due to this being a divine feminine/goddess deck. I'm sure it also has to do with adding on more layers to that of the original meanings of the court cards. I haven't yet confirmed that suspicion though because I haven't read with this deck just yet. I'll speak on this subject when I eventually do a full review after working with it for a while.
Bonus Cards
Another benefit of having the indie version of this deck is that it includes two bonus cards! I love bonus cards because they can add new information, new insights, and new guidance to readings. I look forward to finding out what they mean and what kinds of nuance they can bring to my readings. The picture of these two cards is below.
Card Edges
Here are the beautiful, gilded edges. My only critique right now is one of personal preference and that is that I kind of wish the creator decided to use silver foiling instead of gold but again, that is only my personal preference and opinion. Regardless, it's beautiful anyways!
Card Backs
Last but not least, I really like that this deck's creator went with a simple night sky with stars all over it. While simplistic, it's just beautiful!
