'Resolving Conflict'

In all relationships (including friendships), even with the most compatible ones, conflicts (misunderstandings, disagreements, etc.) are bound to occur. This can lead to tempers flaring, hurt feelings, and even broken hearts. While it's understandable to try to avoid conflicts, when they do come up, try to see it as a wonderful opportunity to understand yourself and your partner's (or friend's) feelings and communication styles, better. Next time a situation arises, instead of pulling away or throwing stones, a great way to diffuse the situation is to calm down and calmly, lovingly, and patiently ask, "What do you really mean by that?". Be open to the response that you receive and then turn around and give your partner or friend the answer to the same question. If both are willing to open up and really listen to each other, a beautiful sense of understanding and of mutual caring and security with each other can come from it. Remember, along with trust and communication, that love, empathy, compassion, and learning to understand each other are the cornerstones of a solid and loving relationship/friendship. 💜
