Deck Review for Trippin' Waite Tarot: Stars Edition

Trippin' Waite Tarot Stars Edition

Published by: Self-published by Tarot Collectibles

Designed and reimagined by: Christine Aguiar

Publishing Date: 2022

Pricing: $70 (I bought it while it was on sale for $68.00)

Cardstock: 350 GSM (This is a high-quality sturdy card stock which results in a thick deck that will hold up well over time.) The cards slide well for shuffling, they don't stick to each other, and they feel really good in the hand. You can riffle or overhand shuffle with this deck.

Card Finish: Clear gloss with holographic stars that shine and shimmer in the light.

Deck Theme: Psychedelic, Retro, Hippie with very eye catching bright and vivid colors. The cards also have holographic stars on the faces side of the cards that shine and shimmer different colors in both sunlight and indoor lighting. It's so gorgeous! These are very much eye candy!

Deck Box: This deck comes with a tuckbox which feels a little thicker than the tuckboxes that you get with mass market tarot decks. It also has the same holographic shiny stars on the box as on the card faces.

Deck Size: Standard RWS tarot size

Deck System: RWS Clone

Where to legitimately purchase this deck:

Tarot Collectibles Website - The Trippin' Waite Tarot (tarotcollectibles.com)

Guidebook/LWB: This deck does not come with a guidebook nor a LWB (little white book). However, anyone who is familiar with the RWS (Rider Waite Smith) tarot system will be able to use this tarot deck for readings without great difficulty. For anyone who is familiar with the RWS tarot system, I recommend purchasing a separate book about the RWS tarot system with images of all of the cards along with full explanations of the cards and their general meanings. With that said, Tarot Collectibles does offer a mini booklet with RWS card meanings for an additional $1.50 if you wish to go that route instead.

Card Backs: The card backs to this tarot deck are very vibrant swirls of colors and they are reversible. Anyone who uses reversals in their readings will have no issues with these card backs.

Back of the cards for Trippin Waite Tarot

Major Arcana: The major arcana all has the usual common cards names along the bottom section of the cards and the names are unchanged with the exception of the Hierophant which has been renamed, The Guru.

Minor Arcana: The minor arcana has the normal suits (Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands) but they do not have the card names on the cards. However, they do have the roman numerals at the top of each card. Also, the minor arcana is fully illustrated (not just pips).

Court Cards: The court cards are unchanged in the characters' titles (Page, Knight, Queen, and King).

I love this deck! It's stunningly gorgeous, fun, easy to read with and gives clear and accurate readings. While it is a bit pricey, I do feel that you're getting the bang for your buck (especially since it also covers the cost of international shipping) with high quality cardstock, very original and beautifully bright vivid imagery, RWS based making the incredible imagery easily recognizable, and the shimmering stars which are very unique for a tarot deck. I truly believe that this deck is worth every cent and the wait for it to arrive (about 3 weeks total). This deck is definitely one of my top favorite decks in my collection! If you're on the fence about whether or not to purchase this deck, get off of the fence and buy it! You won't be sorry, and you can thank me later.

Do I recommend this deck for beginners? Yes, as long as you/they have a book about the RWS system to refer to in case you need it and until you/they learn the cards meanings and develop the intuitive skills.

Final Thoughts
This is a gorgeous and high-quality tarot deck that you won't find just anywhere (legitimately)! While it is on the expensive side, it's also completely worth it! I'd recommend this deck for all levels of tarot readers (beginner, novice, experienced, and professional). This tarot deck is full of stunningly bright and vivid colors that are just so much fun to look at and will catch attention anywhere you read with this deck at! My pictures above just don't do them justice in person, but I tried my best to capture the colors as true and as much as possible (bear in mind that monitor screens differ also and that will have an effect on how they look to you on your device). If you choose to purchase this deck, you won't regret it!

Thank you for taking the time to read this review. I hope you found it helpful and that it answered any questions that you have regarding this beautiful tarot deck. Have a wonderful day and wishing you many happy tarot readings!
